The Othello Huskies are taking a road trip to challenge the Selah Vikings at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Othello is coming into the contest on a four-game losing streak.
On Thursday, Othello came up short against Ephrata and fell 10-7.
Alexa Prochet was huge no matter where she played even without the win. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out six over four innings pitched. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in nine consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

In other batting news, Bethany Zamora was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played. Maria Tapia was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one run.
Selah never got on the board in their matchup on Tuesday, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against East Valley on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Red Devils with a sharp 14-3 victory. The result was nothing new for the Vikings, who have now won 11 matchups by seven runs or more so far this season.
Hailey Christianson tossed a big game, tossing five innings while giving up three earned runs off six hits. What's more, she posted five strikeouts, the most she's had over her last eight games.
At the plate, Aspin Grubenhoff and Avery Brewer did most of the damage at the plate: Grubenhoff fired off two home runs, six RBI, and four runs while going 4-for-4, while Brewer fired off two home runs, three runs, and four RBI while going 2-for-3. Those two home runs gave Grubenhoff a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Payton Brown, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.
Selah lost a few balls and finished the game with five home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.
Selah's record is now 11-3. As for Othello, they now have a losing record of 6-7.
Saturday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Othello hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .321. However, it's not like Selah struggles in that department as they've averaged .454. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Othello might still be hurting after the 10-4 defeat they got from Selah in their previous meeting back in April of 2025. Can the Huskies avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
