Bowie came out on top against John Champe by a score of 76-67 on Saturday. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Among those leading the charge was Julian King, who scored 21 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Nemo Johnson, who scored 14 points.
Bowie is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season. As for John Champe, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-6.
Bowie will be playing at home against Flowers at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Flowers' favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last four games. John Champe will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Loudoun County at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Loudoun County will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Virginia Rankings (they are ranked 363rd, while John Champe is ranked 123rd).
