The DeKalb County Tigers lost against the White County Warriors back in February of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. DeKalb County took a serious blow against White County, falling 80-49. DeKalb County has not had much luck with White County recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead White County to victory, but perhaps none more so than Ava Jones, who scored 23 points along with eight rebounds and three blocks. Jones has been hot recently, having posted two or more blocks the last 17 times she's played. Another player making a difference was Celeste Reed, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 17 rebounds.
DeKalb County now has a losing record at 6-7. As for White County, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 18-1.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. DeKalb County will take on Cumberland County at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Cumberland County is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak. As for White County, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Stone Memorial at 6:00 p.m. Stone Memorial is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses.
