The Mountain Ridge Sentinels entered their tilt with the Salem Hills Skyhawks with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Mountain Ridge managed a 74-68 victory over Salem Hills on Friday. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Mountain Ridge to victory, but perhaps none more so than Wyatt Sylvester, who scored 21 points along with 6 assists. Will Lindsay was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 16 points and 10 rebounds.
Several Skyhawks players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Chase Degraffenried, who scored 27 points along with 9 rebounds and 5 assists. Degraffenried scored a full 39.7% of Salem Hills' points, the fifth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Kolby Dyches, who scored 21 points.
Mountain Ridge's victory bumped their record up to 4-2. As for Salem Hills, they now have a losing record at 2-3.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mountain Ridge will take on Viewmont at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Salem Hills will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Orem at 7:00 p.m. on January 3, 2024.
