Two dominant guards in Austin Nicholson and Ben Unger are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Springstead Eagles will be playing at home against the Mitchell Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Springstead will be looking to keep their six-game home win streak alive.
Even though Zephyrhills scored an imposing 57 points on Friday, Springstead still came out on top. Springstead snuck past the Bulldogs with a 61-57 victory.
Nick Cordero was his usual excellent self, scoring 17 points along with five rebounds and three steals. Another player making a difference was Ryan Sayre, who scored 13 points along with two steals.
Meanwhile, Mitchell scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. Everything went their way against Central as Mitchell made off with a 106-82 victory. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Springstead's win bumped their record up to 15-9. As for Mitchell, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 12-13.
Springstead strolled past the Mustangs when the teams last played back in January by a score of 66-52. Will Springstead repeat their success, or do the Mustangs have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
