It was a good run, but the Peru Nighthawks unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Thursday. They took a 49-30 bruising from Beekmantown. Peru lost against Beekmantown in their previous head to head back in February of 2023, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 57-53 score last time.
Grace McCasland was the offensive standout of the matchup as she scored 21 points along with six steals. Those six steals set a new season-high mark for her. Another player making a difference was Payton Parliament, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 11 rebounds.
Peru's loss dropped their record down to 5-4. As for Beekmantown, their win bumped their record up to 4-6.
Peru will look to defend their home court on Saturday against Fonda-Fultonville at 1:00 p.m. Fonda-Fultonville has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games. As for Beekmantown, they will head out on the road to face off against Moriah at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
