4A Narrows recap Oct. 9, 2012
Bellarmine Prep extended the longest winning streak in 4A Narrows this week by beating Capital, 24-14. The victory was the fourth in a row for the team.
Gig Harbor made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 5,829 from 6,238.
Bellarmine Prep's Sefo Liufau and Garrett McKay have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Liufau has thrown for 1184 yards this season, while McKay, a 5-foot-9 receiver, has 35 catches for 533 yards. Yelm's Jacob Swilley leads the league in rushing yards with 967.
The Tornadoes' Swilley is a mere 33 yards away from breaking the 1,000-rushing-yards mark for the season.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when the Lions take on Yelm. At the moment, Bellarmine Prep is in second, while Randy Swilley's team is in fourth.
There should be lots of points scored when the Lions and the Tornadoes face off this week. The top two offenses in the league, Bellarmine Prep comes in having scored 231 this season, while Yelm has scored 181. The Lions scored 24 points last week as they bested the Cougars.
South Kitsap led 4A Narrows in scoring this week after putting up 45 points on the Tornadoes.
