Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but unfortunately for the West Stokes Wildcats, they weren't the ones who walked away with it. They took a serious blow against Reidsville on Thursday, falling 42-7. West Stokes has struggled against Reidsville recently, as their game on Thursday was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
Despite the loss, West Stokes saw an underclassman step up: Nate Akers gained 80 total yards and a touchdown.
Leading Reidsville to victory were AL Lee and Jariel Cobb. Lee threw for 215 yards and three touchdowns while completing 85.7% of his passes, while Cobb rushed for 128 yards and two touchdowns on only seven carries. Lee is on a roll when it comes to passing touchdowns, as he's now passed for three or more in the last five games he's played.
West Stokes' loss dropped their record down to 7-5. As for Reidsville, they have yet to lose a matchup at home this season, leaving them with a 11-1 record.
West Stokes does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Reidsville will be playing in front of their home fans against Brevard at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Brevard is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
