Carroll is 2-8 against Homestead since December of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Carroll Chargers will head out on the road to face off against the Homestead Spartans at 7:30 p.m. Both teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Carroll can finally bid farewell to their five-game losing streak thanks to their game on Tuesday. They blew past DeKalb 64-44. The win was all the more spectacular given Carroll's disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 248th, while DeKalb is ranked 98th).
Carroll got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Lily George out in front who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 13 rebounds. George is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last five games she's played. Another player making a difference was Ava Myers, who scored 19 points.
Meanwhile, Homestead didn't have too much trouble with Huntington North on the road last Tuesday as they won 58-42.
The losses dropped Carroll to 2-6 and DeKalb to 5-2.
Carroll came up short against Homestead in their previous meeting back in December of 2022, falling 60-55. Can Carroll avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
