The Nazarene Christian Academy Lions will head out on the road to face off against the Calvary Academy Lions at 7:30 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Last Friday, Nazarene Christian Academy got themselves on the board against Texoma Christian, but Texoma Christian never followed suit. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Eagles 50-0 at home. Given Nazarene Christian Academy's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 65th, while Texoma Christian is ranked 232nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Dominic Johnson went supernova for Nazarene Christian Academy, rushing for 270 yards and four touchdowns on only 12 carries. Johnson's longest rush was for an incredible 78 yards. Chandler Luedtke also deserves a shout-out for his two touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Calvary Academy humbled San Jacinto Christian Academy with a 60-24 victory. The win made it back-to-back wins for Calvary Academy.
Nazarene Christian Academy's victory was their sixth straight at home (dating back to last season), bumping their overall record up to 6-2. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.2 points per game. As for Calvary Academy, their victory on Thursday bumped their record up to 5-2.
