Kaleb Bodily ran for two touchdowns and
Jared Repp added two as well as
Moapa Valley (Overton, Nev.) upset
Virgin Valley (Mesquite, Nev.) 53-35 on Saturday.
After taking the lead on a touchdown run by Repp in the first quarter, the Pirates led 27-14 at the half.
Moapa Valley saw its 13-point halftime lead decrease to 12 entering the fourth.
Moapa Valley's standout player in the win was
Jeremy Waite. The senior wide receiver caught two touchdowns. He has now scored nine touchdowns on the season.
The Bulldogs came in allowing just 14.7 points per game this season. Virgin Valley had a hard time against Moapa Valley's offense, which entered the game scoring 32.3 points per game.
When the two teams played each other last season, the Pirates came away with a 47-6 victory.
In a IA Southern - Sunrise game next week Virgin Valley (6-2) takes on Sunrise Mountain, and Moapa Valley (8-0) will go up against Desert Pines also in a IA Southern - Sunrise game.
