Basketball Recap: Nalani Carter Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Seton

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Hampton Roads Academy had no problem doing just that on Wednesday. They came out on top against the Seton Conquistadors by a score of 56-46. This was payback for the Navigators, who suffered a 58-33 loss the last time these two teams met.

Hampton Roads Academy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Nalani Carter, who dropped a double-double with 15 points and ten boards. Carter is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down eight or more in each of the last four games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Kate Lasley, who dropped a double-double with 11 points and ten boards.

Hampton Roads Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 20 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in 16 consecutive matches.

Hampton Roads Academy's win bumped their record up to 20-4. As for Seton, their defeat ended a six-game streak of away wins and brought them to 21-5.

Coming up, Hampton Roads Academy will square off against Virginia Academy on Friday. Virginia Academy knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past eight contests -- so hopefully Hampton Roads Academy likes a good challenge. Seton does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
