Softball Recap: Grainger Has No Trouble Against Claiborne

Grainger won the last time they faced Claiborne and things went their way on Thursday too. The Grizzlies were the clear victors by a 14-1 margin over the Bulldogs. The Grizzlies might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five games by six runs or more this season.

The team relied heavily on Amanda Kledzik, who went 2-for-4 with four runs and two stolen bases. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Destanee Davis, who went 1-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Grainger always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .519. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Claiborne only posted an OBP of .278.

The win made it two in a row for Grainger and bumps their season record up to 11-5. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 8 runs in those games. As for Claiborne, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-9.

Coming up, Grainger will welcome Volunteer at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. The Falcons will roll in looking for their seventh straight win, something the Grizzlies surely won't give up without a fight. As for Claiborne, they will venture away from home to face off against Morristown-Hamblen East at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. The Bulldogs are facing the Hurricanes at the right time seeing as the Hurricanes are stuck on a four-game losing streak.
