Powdersville is 0-10 against Wren since December of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Powdersville Patriots will look to defend their home court against the Wren Hurricanes at 6:30 p.m. Both teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Even though Powdersville has not done well against Southside recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Powdersville really took it to Southside for the full four quarters, racking up a 53-24 win at home. With Powdersville ahead 36-9 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.
Powdersville found their leader in underclassman Amari Rambert, who scored 11 points along with five rebounds and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Raegan Bryant, who scored 11 points along with three steals.
Meanwhile, Wren waltzed into their game on Saturday with four straight wins but they left with five. They enjoyed a cozy 51-36 victory over Ridge View.
Powdersville's victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 7-9. As for Wren, their win bumped their record up to 16-2.
Powdersville was taken down by Wren 54-24 in their previous meeting back in February of 2023. Can Powdersville avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
