San Diego posted their biggest win since December 8, 2023 on Friday. They breezed by Hebbronville on the road to the tune of 57-19. The victory made it back-to-back wins for San Diego.
San Diego got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Estevan Barrientes out in front who scored 16 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Tyler Saenz, who scored 12 points.
Banquete can finally bid farewell to their seven-game losing streak thanks to their game on Wednesday. They secured a 46-42 W over Hebbronville. The victory was just what Banquete needed coming off of a 80-44 loss in their prior contest.
Banquete's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Andrew Elizondo, who scored 15 points along with two steals. Another player making a difference was Isiah Ramirez, who scored nine points along with six rebounds and two steals.
San Diego is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight contests, which somehow isn't as good as their 21-6 record this season. As for Banquete, their win ended a 15-game drought at home and bumped them up to 2-17.
Everything came up roses for San Diego against Banquete in their previous matchup back in February of 2023 as the team secured a 73-28 victory. Does San Diego have another victory up their sleeve, or will Banquete turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
