Softball Recap: Woodrow Wilson Has No Trouble Against Compton

Woodrow Wilson never let their opponents score on Thursday. They blew past the Compton Tarbabes 18-0. Considering the Bruins have won seven matches by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Hannah Stump was a standout: she went a perfect 4-for-4 with five RBI, three runs, and one double. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Tallulah Watts, who got on base in all five of her plate appearances with five RBI and two doubles.

Woodrow Wilson always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .949. They are a perfect 6-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Woodrow Wilson has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-11 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Compton, they are on a 16-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-9.

Looking ahead, Woodrow Wilson will head out on the road to square off against Mayfair at 3:15 p.m. on Monday. As for Compton, they will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Jordan at 4:00 p.m. The Panthers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 13.71 runs per game on average), something the Tarbabes will no doubt try to take advantage of.
