The Alameda Pirates's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fifth straight loss. They were dealt a 58-23 loss at the hands of Dakota Ridge. Alameda lost against Dakota Ridge in their previous head to head back in January of 2023, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 80-13 score last time.
Lupita Solis was Alameda's leading scorer, having posted nine points.
Claire To held things down on the boards with six rebounds. She took the lead distributing the ball, coming up with three assists.
Alameda's loss was their fourth straight at home, which bumped their record down to 1-5. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 24.8 points per game. As for Dakota Ridge, their win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 3-6.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Alameda's homestand continues as they prepare to take on DSST: Conservatory Green at 4:30 p.m. on January 8th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Colorado (DSST: Conservatory Green is ranked 299th, while Alameda is ranked 316th). As for Dakota Ridge, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Lakewood at 6:00 p.m. Hopefully Lakewood focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 31 on Thursday.
