The Argonia Red Raiders's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their third straight loss. They fell 53-40 to Caldwell. If Argonia hoped to take revenge for the 52-34 defeat against they when the teams met, then they were left disappointed.
Despite the loss, Argonia still got an impressive performance from Dalton Morrison, who scored 14 points along with six rebounds and three blocks. Another player making a difference was Filippo Leonardi, who scored seven points along with seven rebounds and six assists.
Caldwell's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Mak Blosser, who scored 21 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Blosser has scored all season. Miles Newell was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with seven rebounds.
Argonia has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-9 record this season. As for Caldwell, their victory bumped their record up to 4-7.
Argonia will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against Udall at 7:30 p.m. on January 23rd. Udall is out to stop a four-game streak of losses at home. Caldwell will take on Cedar Vale/Dexter at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. That game will pit two of the most dominant against one another: Nils Behnke and Jackson Risley.
