Volleyball Recap: Animo South Los Angeles Comes Up Short

The Animo South Los Angeles Panthers lost 3-0 to the Bell Gardens Lancers on Tuesday. The Panthers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

While Animo South Los Angeles was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into Bell Gardens' winning margin in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-12, 25-15, 25-18.

Animo South Los Angeles' offense was headlined by Prince Amir Kuumba and Angel Velasquez, who picked up four kills apiece. They got some help from Jonathan Alas and his 11 assists. Colin Tillman controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.

Animo South Los Angeles now has a losing record of 8-9. As for Bell Gardens, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 14-13 record this season.
