The East Canton Hornets lost against the Strasburg-Franklin Tigers back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. East Canton ended up on the wrong side of a tough 48-23 walloping at the hands of Strasburg-Franklin. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points East Canton has scored all season.
When it comes to explaining why East Canton lost, one person who can't be blamed is Audrey Wade. Despite the final result, she scored 14 points along with seven rebounds. Wade scored a full 60.9% of East Canton's points, the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
This is the second loss in a row for East Canton and nudges their season record down to 1-4. As for Strasburg-Franklin, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 4-1.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. East Canton will challenge Conotton Valley at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. Conotton Valley has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Strasburg-Franklin, they will head out on the road to face off against Malvern at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Malvern will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Ohio Rankings (they are ranked 709th, while Strasburg-Franklin is ranked 305th).
