This season hasn't been kind to the Carver A&T Wildcats, who are still winless after their seventh game. The contest between Carver A&T and Eastern Tech wasn't particularly close, with Carver A&T falling 65-46. While losing is never fun, Carver A&T can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Maryland basketball rankings (they are ranked 278th, while Eastern Tech is ranked 78th).
Eastern Tech was led to victory by Jericho Wondeye and Matthew Foley. Wondeye dropped a double-double on 16 points and ten rebounds, while Foley scored 23 points along with seven steals. Those seven steals set a new season-high mark for him. Jake Prior was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with six rebounds and four steals.
Carver A&T bumped their record down to 0-7 with that defeat, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Eastern Tech, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 6-1.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Carver A&T will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on New Town at 5:30 p.m. on January 3, 2024. Eastern Tech will wrap up 2023 with a road trip to face off against Fort Hill at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
