The Wilmington Greyhounds will head out to  challenge the Mohawk Area Warriors  at 4:30  p.m.  on Monday. Keep an eye on the score for this one:  the two teams posted some lofty  run totals in their previous games.
Last Friday, Wilmington didn't have quite enough to beat Sharon and fell  13-12.
  Danny Leonard made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and  scored two  runs and  stole two bases while going 1-for-4. Another player making a difference was  Owen Bauer, who  scored two  runs while going 1-for-3.
Meanwhile, Mohawk Area unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They fell just short of Mercer by a score of  11-10 on Friday. Sadly, the  loss continues a streak the team started last season, making it four in a row.
 Vinny Pezzuolo put in work no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound,   tossing three innings while giving up   no  earned runs or  hits. Those  zero  hits allowed gave  him a new career-low. He was also solid in the batter's box,  going 1-for-5 with one  home run and two  RBI.
 In other batting news,  Bobby Fadden was cooking despite his team's loss,   going 3-for-5 with two  runs, one  triple,  and one  RBI.  Drew Wrona was another key player,  scoring two  runs and  stealing two bases while going 1-for-3.
Wilmington now  has a losing record of 1-2. As for Mohawk Area, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-1.
 Wilmington came up short against Mohawk Area in their previous matchup  back in April of 2024, falling  8-3. Can Wilmington avenge their  loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
