The Silver Creek Raiders will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on the Presentation Panthers at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The two teams are strolling into their games after big wins in their previous games.
Silver Creek is coming home in high spirits after they had to open their season on the road against Lynbrook. The Raiders never let the Vikings get on the board and left with a 21-0 win on Tuesday. The victory continues a trend for the Raiders in their matchups with the Vikings: they've now won three in a row.
Evangelina Cuevas made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 12 over five innings pitched. Cuevas was also stellar in the batter's box, going 4-for-5 with two stolen bases, three runs, and four RBI.

Silver Creek always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .718. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Lynbrook only posted an OBP of .167.
Meanwhile, Presentation gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Wednesday. They were the clear victors by a 13-3 margin over Castilleja.
Like Silver Creek, Presentation also got a great game from a two-way player: Allie Malatesta. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over four innings pitched. Malatesta was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with three RBI.
In other batting news, Presentation got a massive performance out of Leah Escolar, who went 1-for-3 with four stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Audrey Kang, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI.
Silver Creek couldn't quite get it done against Presentation in their previous matchup back in May of 2021 as they fell 6-2. Will the Raiders have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the match for a full breakdown of the game, commentary, and other softball content.
