Fort Stockton found their leader in underclassman Victoria Maldonado, who scored 17 points along with five assists and four steals. That's the first time this season that Maldonado scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was Amaya Urias, who scored eight points along with seven rebounds and two steals.
Fort Stockton's win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 13-11. As for Monahans, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost 15 of their last 16 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-20 record this season.
