The Dunellen Destroyers will face off against the New Egypt Warriors at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Dunellen is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.9 runs per game this season.
New Egypt will face off against a team with plenty of momentum: Dunellen extended their winning streak to three on Thursday. The Destroyers walked away with a 6-1 victory over Roselle Park.
Joseph Reyes spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on three hits and racked up seven Ks.

At the plate, Michael Dow was excellent, going 3-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. He has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last six times he's played. Mark Stein was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base.
Meanwhile, New Egypt got themselves on the board against Pinelands Regional on Friday, but Pinelands Regional never followed suit. They blew past the Wildcats 10-0. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Warriors as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.
Nolan Arnold made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out ten over six innings pitched. He is becoming a predictor of New Egypt's success: when he posts at least eight strikeouts the team is 3-1-1 (and 2-8 when he doesn't). Arnold was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in May of 2024.
Arnold wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Lucas Burgos, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one RBI.
Dunellen's victory bumped their record up to 12-6. As for New Egypt, their win bumped their record up to 5-9-1.
New Egypt's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Dunellen hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .333. It's a different story for New Egypt, though, as they've only averaged .209. Will they be able to contain Dunellen's hitters?
Dunellen might still be hurting after the 11-0 defeat they got from New Egypt in their previous meeting back in May of 2024. Will the Destroyers have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the action for a full breakdown of the game and more baseball content.
