Deer Park has gone 6-1 against North Central recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Stags will host the Wolfpack at 4:00 p.m. One thing working in Deer Park's favor is that they have posted at least ten runs in their last three contests.
Deer Park hadn't beaten Lakeside on the road since April 28, 2023 but that history sure didn't bother them on Monday. The Stags blew past the Eagles 12-1. The result was nothing new for the Stags, who have now won 11 games by eight runs or more so far this season.
Hailey Thompson was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she tossed six innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. Thompson was also big at the plate, going 3-for-5 with two RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March.
In other batting news, Lucy Lathrop was incredible, firing off two home runs, four runs, and one stolen base while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances. That's the most home runs she has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Katelyn Reiter, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.
North Central might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 26-4 to Pullman, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. The defeat continues a trend for the Wolfpack in their meetings with the Greyhounds: they've now lost eight in a row.
Deer Park pushed their record up to 12-1 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. As for North Central, their loss dropped their record down to 0-11.
Everything went Deer Park's way against North Central in their previous matchup back in March, as Deer Park made off with a 33-0 win. Will the Stags repeat their success, or do the Wolfpack have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
