The Dillon Wildcats will head out on the road to face off against the Manning Monarchs at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Manning took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Dillon, who comes in off a win.
You can't lose the contest if you win every quarter, and that was precisely Dillon's strategy against the Blue Jackets on Tuesday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Dillon blew the Blue Jackets out of the water with a 63-20 final score. With Dillon ahead 32-4 at the half, the contest was all but over already.
Dillon's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Zamaurious Robertson, who scored ten points along with two steals, and Jamarion Fling, who scored eight points along with five steals. Fling is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last seven games he's played. Another player making a difference was Jayden Benjamin, who scored seven points.
Meanwhile, things could have been worse for Manning, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 58-44 loss to the Bulldogs on Tuesday.
Dillon is on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 14 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 14-6 record this season. As for Manning, they dropped their record down to 13-9 with that defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road.
Dillon beat the Monarchs 68-60 in their previous meeting back in January. The rematch might be a little tougher for Dillon since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
