The St. John Lutheran Saints's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their sixth straight loss. They took a hard 58-40 fall against Riverside Christian.
Despite the loss, St. John Lutheran had strong showings from Brody Gravante, who scored nine points along with five assists, and Bryce Disimile, who scored ten points along with seven rebounds. Another player making a difference was Braylon Dickerson, who scored six points along with five rebounds.
Riverside Christian's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Willie Clines, who scored 20 points along with three steals. That makes it five consecutive games in which Clines has scored at least 25% of Riverside Christian's points. Syler Sayers was another key contributor, scoring 17 points.
St. John Lutheran bumped their record down to 1-9 with that loss, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season. As for Riverside Christian, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 6-6-1.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. St. John Lutheran will take on Cedar Key at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Cedar Key comes in still looking for their first win of the season. As for Riverside Christian, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Bell at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Bell has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games.
