The Notre Dame Prep Saints will face off against the Campo Verde Coyotes at 3:45 p.m. on Monday. Notre Dame Prep is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.7 runs per game this season.
On Saturday, Notre Dame Prep needed a bit of extra time to put away Salpointe Catholic. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Lancers, sneaking past 3-2. The win was nothing new for the Saints as they're now sitting on three straight.

Marley Caldwell spent all eight innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on four hits and racked up 12 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 14 consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Notre Dame Prep's victory was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Sammy Swords, who went 1-for-4 with one home run and two RBI.
Campo Verde never got on the board in their matchup on Wednesday, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Mesquite last Friday. They put the hurt on the Wildcats with a sharp 12-2 win.
Campo Verde also let their pitcher toss all six innings played and she was also dialed-in: Addyson Armstrong gave up only one earned (and one unearned) run on two hits.
On the hitting side, Rylan Renowden was incredible, scoring two runs while getting on base in all five of her plate appearances. What's more, she posted three RBI, the most she's had since back in February. Anna Zehring was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.
Campo Verde always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .550. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Campo Verde has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 8-14 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.8 runs over those games. As for Notre Dame Prep, their win bumped their record up to 13-6.
Campo Verde's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Monday. Notre Dame Prep has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8.5 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Campo Verde, though, as they've been averaging only 3.9 strikeouts. Will Notre Dame Prep keep running through batters, or will the Coyotes buck the trend?
Notre Dame Prep might still be hurting after the 15-3 loss they got from Campo Verde when the teams last played back in March of 2019. Can the Saints avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
