1 of 1 Academy waltzed into their game on Wednesday with two straight wins but they left with three. They skirted past Varsity Opponent 71-69. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
1 of 1 Academy found their leader in underclassman Yohance Conner, who scored 17 points along with seven assists and seven rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Tayeshaun Smith, who scored 16 points.
1 of 1 Academy pushed their record up to 14-5 with that win, which was their 13th straight on the road dating back to last season. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 81.8 points per game. As for Varsity Opponent, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 20 of their last 21 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 389-1418-2 record this season.
1 of 1 Academy's road trip will continue as they head out to face Westminster Catawba Christian at 7:00 p.m. on February 13th. Hopefully 1 of 1 Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 13 on Wednesday. As for Varsity Opponent, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 74-12 loss vs. Ohio School for the Deaf on the 7th.
