High school basketball: NIBC final weekend to shape National Top 10 ahead of GEICO Nationals

No. 4 Sunrise Christian Academy, No. 6 AZ Compass Prep and No. 8 La Lumiere close out regular season action at Pete Hollis Showcase.

Three National Top 10 teams will be in action this weekend at the Pete Hollis Showcase to close out NIBC regular season action.

No. 4 Sunrise Christian Academy (Bel Aire, Kan.), No. 6 AZ Compass Prep (Chandler, Ariz.) and No. 8 La Lumiere (La Porte, Ind.) look to solidify their spots in GEICO Nationals with a strong showing over the weekend in Greenville, S.C.

No. 1 Montverde Academy (Montverde, Fla.), No. 2 Link Academy (Branson, Mo.) and No. 5 IMG Academy (Bradenton, Fla.) all appear to be in strong positions to earn an invitation to the national championship tournament next month after closing out regular season action last month.

St. Benedict's Prep (Newark, N.J.) re-enters the rankings after a month hiatus. The Gray Bees take over the No. 10 spot after previous No. 8 DME Academy (Daytona Beach, Fla.) dropped out of the rankings following back-to-back losses in postseason play.

End the regular season and earned the top seed in the upcoming Grind Session championship tournament. The Crew take on Albuquerque Prep (Albuquerque, N.M.) in their first round matchup on March 10.

Enter the final weekend of NIBC with a a 6-4 record in conference play. The Buffaloes face MaxPreps Top 25 No. 3 Long Island Lutheran (Brookville, N.Y.) on Friday and No. 8 La Lumiere on Saturday at the Pete Hollis Showcase to close out regular season action.

In third place in the NIBC standings with a record of 7-3 in conference this season. The Dragons travel to the Pete Hollis Showcase this weekend, taking on  No. 8 La Lumiere on Friday and MaxPreps Top 25 No. 3 Long Island Lutheran (Brookville, N.Y.) on Saturday.

This group has work left to do to earn a shot at GEICO Nationals this season. The Lakers would likely need to go 3-0 at the Pete Hollis Showcase to put themselves in position for an invite as they face Oak Hill Academy (Mouth of Wilson, Va.) on Thursday, vs. No. 6 AZ Compass Prep on Friday and vs. No. 4 Sunrise Christian Academy on Saturday.

Compete in the Pete Hollis Showcase this weekend with matchups against Bishop Walsh (Cumberland, Md.) on Thursday and Legacy Early College (Greenville, S.C.) on Saturday.

Re-join the National Top 10 after seeing previous No. 8 DME Academy (Daytona Beach, Fla.) suffer back-to-back losses. The Gray Bees captured their second straight Prep A state title over the weekend with a 76-55 victory over Blair Academy (Blairstown) paced by a game-high 23 points from Ademar Santos.
