Plainville is 0-5 against Rocky Hill since April of 2016 but things could change on Wednesday. The Blue Devils will welcome the Terriers at 4:15 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Plainville is returning home triumphant after the team finally put their road woes behind them against RHAM on Tuesday. The Blue Devils put the hurt on the Raptors with a sharp 19-2 victory. Considering the Blue Devils have won four contests by more than ten runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
Meanwhile, Rocky Hill strolled into their game on Tuesday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They walked away with a 13-9 win over Canton. While the Terriers didn't have the best season last year (they finished 7-12), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.
Mia Ferreira was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and not a single walk). She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of her five plate appearances with two RBI and one run. Those RBI were her first of the season.
In other batting news, Mia Cristalli was incredible, getting on base in all five of her plate appearances with one home run, two stolen bases, and two runs. That home run marked the first that she has launched this season. Peyton Morello was another key player, going a perfect 4-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.
Rocky Hill kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 17 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in May of 2024.
Plainville has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-2 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.5 runs over those games. As for Rocky Hill, their win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-0.
Plainville might still be hurting after the 29-4 defeat they got from Rocky Hill when the teams last played back in May of 2024. Can the Blue Devils avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
