Immanuel is 9-1 against Central Valley Christian since May of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Eagles will look to defend their home field against the Cavaliers at 6:30 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Immanuel has six straight wins, Central Valley Christian has nine straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Immanuel barely beat Sierra Pacific the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Eagles put the hurt on the Golden Bears with a sharp 9-2 victory on Tuesday. The Eagles might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine contests by seven runs or more this season.
Amanda Herrera made a big impact no matter where she played. She struck out eight batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits (and not a single walk). She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one walk in five consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two runs and one RBI.
In other batting news, Addison Efird was excellent, going 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Another player making a difference was Natalia Delgadillo, who went 1-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
Immanuel kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Sierra Pacific only managed five hits.
Meanwhile, Central Valley Christian came up short against Washington Union on Tuesday, falling 14-2.
Immanuel's win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 16-5-2. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Central Valley Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-12.
Everything went Immanuel's way against Central Valley Christian when the teams last played back in April, as Immanuel made off with a 24-0 win. Do the Eagles have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Cavaliers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
