The Mount St. Joseph Gaels had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8.8 points), and they went ahead and made it five on Saturday. Everything went their way against Pallotti as Mount St. Joseph made off with a 27-7 win. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Mount St. Joseph also won the last time the pair played back in October of 2022.
Mount St. Joseph can attribute much of their success to Winston Watkins, who threw for 237 yards and two touchdowns, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. The team also got some help courtesy of Dennis Morgan, who picked up 103 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Mount St. Joseph's victory was their third straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 7-3. Admittedly, the team didn't face the toughest opposition across those games, namely Pallotti, Calvert Hall, and Gilman. As for Pallotti, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-7.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mount St. Joseph will square off against Archbishop Spalding at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Pallotti will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Calvert Hall at 4:00 p.m. on November 3rd.
