Bishop Dunne moved up to 577 from 680 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in TAPPS Division I District 1. The Falcons were able to make the jump by losing to Liberty Christian 42-27.
Prestonwood Christian extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating John Paul II, 42-7. The victory was the seventh in a row for the team.
Mickey Mitchell and Grayson Warren gave Prestonwood Christian a balanced attack through the air and ground last week. Mitchell threw for 327 yards and four touchdowns, while Warren ran for 196 yards. Raleigh Beougher also contributed to the rushing game with 48 yards on the ground.
Tanner Snow was the best wideout in the league this week as Trinity Christian beat Bishop Lynch. Snow racked up 13 receptions for 133 yards. Brock Thomas helped Trinity Christian's passing attack out by catching seven balls for 87 yards.
The Trojans' Daniel Davidson and Thomas have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading TAPPS Division I District 1 in both passing and receiving yards. Davidson has thrown for 1943 yards this season, while Thomas, a 6-foot-2 receiver, has 30 catches for 530 yards. Warren from Chris Cunningham's team leads the league in rushing with 1016 yards.
Entering into this week's contest against the Lions, Davidson is short just 57 passing yards to break 2,000 on the season.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Steve Hayes' team takes on Prestonwood Christian. The Trojans are in third place, while the Lions are in first place.
There should be lots of points scored when Trinity Christian and Prestonwood Christian face off this week. The top two offenses in the league, the Trojans comes in having scored 238 this season, while the Lions have scored 332. Trinity Christian scored 45 points last week as it defeated the Friars.
Prestonwood Christian took down the Cardinals 42-7 last week, the largest margin of any game. Mitchell ran for six yards in the win.
