Tyler Legacy found their leader in sophomore Zyere Ceasar, who went 8 for 11 on his way to 23 points in addition to eight boards and three blocks. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Ceasar has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jayden Jones, who went 9 of 16 on his way to 23 points.
Meanwhile, Rockwall-Heath slipped by Forney 71-70 on Friday. Given the Hawks' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 68th, while the Jackrabbits are ranked 361st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Rockwall-Heath's win came from a few key players Tyler Legacy will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Isaac Yacob, who went 7 of 11 from beyond the arc on his way to 23 points. Those 23 points gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaleb Turner-Dicus, who went 6 of 14 on his way to 20 points and eight rebounds.
Rockwall-Heath smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in ten consecutive contests.
Tyler Legacy is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 12 games, which provided a massive bump to their 14-12 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.7 points per game. As for Rockwall-Heath, their win bumped their record up to 20-5.
Some high-performance offense is likely on the agenda as Tyler Legacy and Rockwall-Heath are some of the highest scoring teams in the league. Tyler Legacy hasn't had any problem running up the score this season, having averaged 62.6 points per game. However, it's not like Rockwall-Heath struggles in that department as they've been averaging 61.8 points. With both teams so easily able to put up points, the only question left is who can run the score up higher.
