The Lawrence County Wildcats made easy work of the Lexington Golden Bears on Saturday and carried off a 13-3 victory. The Wildcats might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven matchups by ten runs or more this season.
Justin Kimbrell made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed 4.2 innings while giving up three earned runs off five hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (three). He was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 3-for-4.
In other batting news, Jake Moore was incredible, scoring two runs while going 4-for-5. What's more, he posted two RBI, the most he's had since back in March. Brooks Durham was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.
Lawrence County always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .548. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Lexington only posted an OBP of .231.
Lawrence County's win bumped their record up to 12-10. As for Lexington, with the defeat, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 11-18.
