The Otsego Bulldogs are taking a road trip to take on the Wyoming Wolves at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Otsego's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by an 11-0 margin over Sturgis. The Bulldogs haven't had any issues with the Trojans recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.
Cassie Holland was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out ten over five innings pitched. Holland was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with two RBI and one run.
In other batting news, Otsego got a massive performance out of Audrey Lingbeek, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. Sophia Pierce was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.
Otsego hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Sturgis struck out ten times.
Meanwhile, Wyoming made easy work of Union on Tuesday and carried off an 18-0 victory. With that win, the Wolves brought their scoring average up to 6.9 runs per game.
Like Otsego, Wyoming also got a great game from a two-way player: Blen Brookhouse. She pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Brookhouse was also solid in the batter's box, earning three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Those RBI were her first of the season.
In other batting news, Kellsie Dieterle was a standout: she went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. That home run was her first of the season. Another player making a difference was LaNieva Rayborn, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and two doubles.
The victory made it two in a row for Wyoming and bumps their season record up to 3-5. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 0 runs in those games. As for Otsego, their record is now 7-4.
