The Falfurrias Fightin' Jerseys will head out on the road to face off against the Agua Dulce Longhorns at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Falfurrias is hoping to put an end to a six-game streak of away losses dating back to last season.
Last Tuesday, Falfurrias came up short against Kaufer and fell 31-19. Falfurrias has struggled against Kaufer recently, as their matchup last Tuesday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Meanwhile, Agua Dulce didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Premont on Tuesday, but they still walked away with a 39-34 win.
Alyssa Vinton was the offensive standout of the matchup as she scored 17 points along with three steals. Those 17 points set a new season-high mark for her. Another player making a difference was Avery Calvez, who scored ten points along with five rebounds and four steals.
Falfurrias' defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Agua Dulce, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 8-5 record this season.
Falfurrias didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Agua Dulce in their previous matchup back in November, but they still walked away with a 31-26 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Falfurrias since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
