Hannah Florian made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out nine batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). Those nine strikeouts gave her a new career-high. The win got Chesterton back to even at 1-1. As for La Porte, they dropped their record down to 0-2 with the loss, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season.
