The Sacred Heart Tigers's game last Tuesday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They breezed by Nazarene Christian Academy on the road to the tune of 58-30. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Sacred Heart also won the last time the pair played back in January.
Nazarene Christian Academy's loss came despite strong showings from Maggie Platts and Mavanee Franks. Platts scored seven points along with three steals, while Franks scored five points along with ten rebounds and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Dakota Becker, who scored 12 points along with six rebounds and three steals.
Even though they lost, Nazarene Christian Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 21 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Sacred Heart's win bumped their record up to 6-8. As for Nazarene Christian Academy, they have not been sharp recently as the team's lost ten of their last 12 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-15 record this season.
Sacred Heart does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Nazarene Christian Academy will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against the Eagles at 6:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Ovilla Christian has eight straight wins, the Lions have four straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
