The Southside Panthers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine games by 21 points or more this season. They took their contest on the road on Tuesday with ease, bagging a 55-18 win over Glencoe. Given Southside's advantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 28th, while Glencoe is ranked 163rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
It was another big night for Laylah Davis, who scored 18 points. Those 18 points set a new season-high mark for her. The team also got some help courtesy of Hannah Westcott, who scored 11 points along with seven rebounds.
Southside is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 15-3 record this season. As for Glencoe, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-7.
Southside will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Lincoln on January 5th. As for Glencoe, they will be playing at home against Ohatchee at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
