Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Lamar County). They snuck past Utopian Academy for the Arts with a 95-90 victory on Tuesday. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Trojans as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.

Despite the loss, Utopian Academy for the Arts still got an impressive performance from Quevion Johnson, who almost dropped a double-double on 35 points and nine steals. The dominant performance gave Johnson a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jace Franklin, who went 7 for 8 on his way to 17 points and five boards.

Lamar County's victory bumped their record up to 6-9. As for Utopian Academy for the Arts, they are on an 18-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-16.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lamar County will venture away from home to take on Towers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Towers' favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last three contests. As for Utopian Academy for the Arts, they will head out to square off against Jasper County at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Jasper County will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Utopian Academy for the Arts surely won't give up without a fight.
