Even though the Sumner Stingrays scored an imposing 69 points on Tuesday, the Robinson Knights still came out on top. Robinson slipped by Sumner 70-69. Winning may never get old, but Robinson sure is getting used to it with their third in a row.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Robinson to victory, but perhaps none more so than LaJesse Harrold, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 13 rebounds. That's the first time this season that Harrold scored 15 or more points. Dylan Russell was another key contributor, scoring 15 points along with seven assists.
Sumner's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Isaiah Williams, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 15 rebounds, and Jacob Douglas who scored 15 points along with six assists and two steals. Douglas hasn't dropped below two steals for eight straight games. Another player making a difference was Devin Baker, who scored 11 points.
Robinson is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-7 record this season. As for Sumner, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 12-5.
Robinson will take on Steinbrenner at 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Steinbrenner is hoping to put an end to a five-game streak of away losses. As for Sumner, they will head out on the road to face off against Brandon at 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Brandon comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
