The Norfolk Panthers pushed their score all the way to 57 on Wednesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They received a tough blow as they fell 71-57 to Benson. Norfolk has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
When it comes to explaining why Norfolk lost, one person who can't be blamed is Tasha Eisenhauer. Despite the final result, she scored 23 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Eisenhauer has scored all season. Skylar Indra was another key contributor, scoring ten points.
Norfolk bumped their record down to 4-9 with that loss, which was their third straight on the road. As for Benson, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Norfolk will take on Kearney at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Kearney knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past four games -- so hopefully Norfolk likes a good challenge. As for Benson, they the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Gretna East on January 19th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Nebraska (Gretna East is ranked 89th, while Benson is ranked 79th).
