Last Tuesday, West Point escaped with a win against Corinth by the margin of a single free throw, 45-44.
Meanwhile, Itawamba Agricultural's recent rough patch got a bit rougher last Wednesday after their third straight loss. They fell 59-48 to Bob Jones.
West Point's win bumped their record up to 8-4. As for Itawamba Agricultural, their loss dropped their record down to 6-8.
West Point didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Itawamba Agricultural when the teams last played back in November of 2021, but they still walked away with a 60-56 victory. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Itawamba Agricultural's Ethan Johnson, who scored 21 points along with four steals. Now that he won't be playing on Friday, will it be that much easier for West Point to walk away with another win? There's only one way to find out.
