Estrella Foothills is 9-1 against Peoria since April of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Wolves will head out to challenge the Panthers at 3:45 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Peoria will be up against a hot Estrella Foothills squad: the team just extended their winning streak to three. The Wolves were the clear victors by a 16-3 margin over Westview on Wednesday. The result was nothing new for the Wolves, who have now won nine games by six runs or more so far this season.

Jose Olivas and Alec Schaeffer made a big impact while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Olivas pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Meanwhile, Schaeffer pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. At bat, Olivas went 1-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double, while Schaeffer went a perfect 2-for-2 with three stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. Those three stolen bases gave Schaeffer a new career-high.
Estrella Foothills was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .448 or higher in four consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Peoria). Everything went their way against Agua Fria on Thursday as they made off with a 19-4 win. With that victory, the Panthers brought their scoring average up to 6.7 runs per game.
Sebastian Aguero was a standout: he went a perfect 3-for-3 with four runs, four RBI, and one stolen base. Peoria is 3-1 when Aguero posts three or more RBI, but 0-8 otherwise. Brady Leiby was another key player, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with four runs, two stolen bases, and one triple.
Estrella Foothills' record now sits at 18-4. As for Peoria, their record is now 3-9.
Peoria's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Estrella Foothills has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9.8 hits per game. It's a different story for Peoria, though, as they've been averaging 9 hits. Given Estrella Foothills' sizable advantage in that area, the Panthers will need to find a way to close that gap.
Estrella Foothills got the 'W' when the teams last played back in March against Peoria by a conclusive 16-2 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Wolves since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
