Charlotte is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. Their pitchers stepped up to hand Sexton an 18-0 shutout on Tuesday. The Orioles haven't had any issues with the Big Reds recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.
Jackson Stewart and Christian Powers were major factors no matter where they played. Throwing, Stewart tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Powers pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Stewart has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up a single earned run in three consecutive appearances. In other batting news, Karter Jackson was a standout: he went 3-for-4 with four runs, four RBI, and one stolen base. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Ty Bowzer, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with four runs and three RBI.
Charlotte was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .593. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive contests.
Haslett never got on the board in their matchup on Thursday, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Eastern on Tuesday. They blew past the Quakers 20-4. The match marked the Vikings' most dominant victory of the season so far.
Asher Fackler made a splash while hitting and pitching. He tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Haslett is 2-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 2-3 otherwise. Fackler was also big at the plate, going a perfect 1-for-1 with three RBI and one triple.
In other batting news, Jacob Rienstra was incredible, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Ethan Kingdon was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.
Charlotte pushed their record up to 7-3 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.2 runs over those games. As for Haslett, the win got them back to even at 4-4.
