Millbrook took care of business in their home opener (and then some) on Friday. Everything went their way against the Garner Trojans as they made off with a 34-13 win. Given the Wildcats' advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina football rankings (they are ranked 12th, while the Trojans are ranked 118th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.
Brilison McCullers had an outrageously good game as he rushed for 85 yards and three touchdowns. He is on a roll when it comes to rushing touchdowns, as he's now punched in two or more in each of the last three games he's played dating back to last season.
Although Garner took the loss, they still got scores from Tayden McPhatter and Derek Taylor.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Millbrook will venture away from home to square off against Heritage at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Garner, they will head out to face off against Laney at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
