On Saturday, the Archmere Academy Auks faced the Wilmington Friends Quakers in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Archmere Academy took their contest at home with ease, bagging a 42-14 victory over Wilmington Friends. The victory was familiar territory for Archmere Academy who now have six in a row.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Archmere Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than PJ Blessington, who rushed for 56 yards and a touchdown, and also picked up 68 receiving yards. Blessington was no stranger to the big play, connecting with a big catch that went for 68 yards. Another player making a difference was Miles Kempski, who rushed for 71 yards and a touchdown on only seven carries.
Archmere Academy pushed their record up to 7-3 with that victory, which was their third straight at home. They've been dominating during the matches in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 31.67 points. As for Wilmington Friends, their loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-2-1.
